HOW TO REMOVE A FRONT SEAT FROM A HONDA ACCORD

Instructions

    1. Pry off the plastic cover hiding the seat fasteners with the screwdriver on the front of the seat.

    2. Remove the fasteners with a 14 mm socket.

    3. Slide the seat to its most forward position to reveal the rear fasteners.

    4. If they are power seats, you will have to apply power to the seats to move them.

    5. Remove the rear fasteners with the same steps as the front.

    6. Lift the seat up slightly and disconnect any electrical connects such as that for a seat belt.

    7. Pull the seat from the car once all the connections are disconnected.

Greetings, viewers. Eric, the car guy here. Today, I'm going to walk you through the process of how to remove a seat in an Accord like this one here. Luckily, the door has been removed and it's going to be easy to get in and out. The only tools I'm going to need are this Flathead screwdriver and also, I have a 14 millimeter on my cordless impact here.

What holds the seat are underneath these covers. Over on this side, there is no cover, and you can see the 14 millimeter fastener exposed. On this side, we're going to have to remove a plastic cover. And just get under it with a screwdriver and pry it away. So now we need to move the seat forward so we can expose the fasteners in the back. This is not a power seat so that's going to be relatively easy, we just move it forward. However, if it does stick or bind, check for loose change, something that might be in the track that's causing it not to move. And you can usually get that stuff out of there, and it'll move like it should. Now if it's a power seat, you're going to have to supply power to the motors inside the seat itself, and I've got another video available for you on that.

Pull the lever up. Now that we've exposed where the rear fasteners are located, they're underneath these plastic covers that we can just pry out of the way. Now I'm going to move the seat back into position, and I'm going to tip it up and check for any electrical connections underneath it before I try to remove it from the vehicle. As you can see, there's one here for the seat belt. Now I can lift it out of the vehicle. Be careful when you do this, it could hurt your back. Some of these, especially power seats, are pretty heavy.
