Hey, this is Erik from Velocity Labs. We're going to be doing a quick DIY and Drive tutorial with Pull-A-Part Used Auto Parts. We're going to be pulling a taillight out of this 2003 Ford Explorer. Now, taillights are usually a pretty easy pull, but sometimes the interior trim pieces can be tricky. Luckily, on this one, though, it's just a couple screws.
All right, so to take the Ford taillight out, it's actually really easy. There's just two screws here that hold it on. However, some cars, you'll have to remove interior trim pieces to get to the taillight. You can usually do that with a fairly large flat head screwdriver. And what you want to do is just work into the edges and given a little pressure, and the trim piece will pop right off. Once you do that with a couple pieces, then you can get in and get to any other screws that are holding the taillight in. For this one, though, they're right on the outside, which is nice. So all we've got to do is just take out these two screws.
Once those are out, just pull the taillight away from the body, and then just pull it straight backwards, like so. There's a little clip here with a plastic fastener that holds it in place, but you've just got to give it a little tug and it'll come out. And just remove the bulbs. And you've got yourself a new taillight.
