Transcripción Del Vídeo

Greetings, viewers. Eric The Car Guy here. And today, we're going to remove an alternator on this Toyota Camry. There's several different ways you can approach this. You've got an electrical connector here and an electrical connector up here that's held down by a 10 millimeter fastener.

I think I'm going to start there since it's the highest point. Be very careful with this because you can damage the internals of the alternator. And we're going to pull a connector out. And as you can see, it's already been damaged. I'm going to save the nut just in case I need that later. So now, I'm going to loosen the slider for the alternator so I can get the belt off. It's 12 millimeter. Now, actually, we're going to have to remove it all the way anyway to get the alternator off. But before I go too far, I'm going to loosen this bolt here. Going to make quick work of it with my cordless impact.

Now, you may have wondered why the alternator didn't move. Well, it's still held here by this fastener. Now, normally, this is a 14 millimeter head, but somebody has changed this one over to 15. No matter. We can still remove it now. Things are still jammed into place a little bit, but a few taps palm of my hand. No more belt tension. Remove my last 12 millimeter fastener. Now we can just remove the alternator. Might have to wiggle a little bit.

Well, there you have it. A pull like this can save you quite a bit of money. I'm Eric The Car Guy. Thank you so much for watching. Be safe, have fun, stay dirty.
